John Pollock, DVM
Dr. Pollock has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 25 years in a variety of settings including mixed-animal practice, shelter medicine, academia and biomedical.
He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 in his home state of Massachusetts. Upon graduation, he pulled up roots to serve as an associate in a mixed-animal practice in rural Vermont where he loved working with both small and large animals. In 2000, he returned to Tufts as a Clinical Professor and experienced great pride in teaching veterinary students for 16 years. In 2016, John shifted gears and worked for a biomedical company where he managed a large herd of dairy goats that produced therapeutic proteins in their milk for human medicine.
In 2020, he moved to Victoria with his Canadian wife (a small animal emergency doctor) and their two kids. The whole family feels fortunate to live on this beautiful island and look forward to growing life-long ties to the community.
With At Home Veterinary Services, John is going back to doing what he loves most: establishing lasting relationships with people, and providing experienced veterinary care for pets and farm animals.
When not at work, John can be found with his family exploring the island, hiking, biking, fishing and sailing.
